When we were in Chicago in August, we got to spend the day sailing with my family. I’d never been on a sailboat before, and I love the perspective of the skyline from the lake – so the combination of trying new things and enjoying familiar vistas made for a great day.
On days like this one, when you can’t see clear across to Michigan, the lake feels very ocean-like. The only thing missing is that salty smell in the air (and maybe a few more waves). The water just stretches out as far as you can see.
Ah summertime, these are the glory days – these long, sunny celebrations of warmth before leaves start to change and air gets crisp. Did you get out to enjoy the last bits of summer over Labor Day weekend?
